The international beer market staged something of a recovery in 2010 with global beer consumption increasing by 2.4%, according to Canadean’s new Global Beer Trends report. This marks a dramatic improvement on the 0.5% growth seen in 2009, but is still well below the 5%+ growth rates seen earlier in the decade.

Global Beer Trends 2011 - £999 (excl. VAT)  - provides historical and forecast beer consumption trends, production, imports and exports data - all across 167 markets worldwide. Also includes leading brewers' % market share and ranking of leading brands for 59 key markets.

• In 2010, global beer market growth recovered to around 2.4%; up from 0.5% in 2009 but still well below the 5%+ rates seen before the economic crisis started in 2008.

• Regional differences continue to become more apparent, with Africa, Asia and Latin America markets performing strongly whilst markets in Europe and North America continue to fall.

• India, Vietnam, Kazakhstan and South Korea all reported double digit growth in 2010, whilst markets such as Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Denmark and Serbia all fell by over 5%.

• China's beer market (the world's largest) is now twice the size of the US beer market.
